Not able to come to a shared understanding of what exactly the customer wants

Once I got a customer who had seen a texture painting from another Asian Paints site, and he wanted that texture painted on his site also.  He was imagining some design and telling me, but I couldn’t understand what he was saying. He was not ready to share the pics. I even told him to share the address so I can go to that area and check the design, but he was not sharing the address as well. TL, the contractor and I spoke to him, we submitted all the texture designs we had but still he did not like that. Whatever he said we did that. We changed the design 3 times and still, he was not happy. So ultimately the customer wanted a sponge effect with shading, and we did that. But still, he said,’ you complete this, but I will clear it and get another team to work on it’. The overall work was neat, but he was not satisfied with it. 

This is a challenge situation that calls for a solutioning and empathetic response
