Meeting time commitments

I was once late in arriving at a site. The customer whom I was meeting was of such a nature that he would notice every point and calculate in his mind. So, in the beginning, only the customer told me, “You are late today. It is our first meeting. If I give you the work, you will be late in that as well.”  

Then I had to convince him that, “No, Sir, because of so and so reason I became late. But the work will be very professional and whatever I commit, I will deliver, be it labour numbers or timelines.” 

In such situations, it is tough to handle the customer. This does happen often at sites. Some customers notice your every move and make a very strong first impression of you on the first site visit itself.
