There was this walk-in customer who was very close to the dealer. I was to meet him at 12:30. I was delayed by 5 minutes due to heavy traffic. The customer was from an army background and was very strict about time. He felt that I had misbehaved with him by coming late.
So slowly I asked him his requirement and started speaking with him. He liked the product features and the way I explained it to him. Then, I shared my product knowledge with him and tried to understand the seepage issues at his home. He was having a lot of moisture issues in his house. So, I tried to explain to him the features few Asian Paints products’ of DampProof and Textures properly. Products that will give his home protection during heavy rains. So, we started talking and slowly our communication went on.
And the time schedule that was fixed; work went on as per schedule. There were no delays. So, then he was quite happy. Towards the end, he had told me one thing. The customer said, “You should be prepared for growing in your career because you can deal with customers very well.” This was a very good experience for me. Seekh bhi achchi mili. I also got good feedback from the customer.
Now whenever I deal with customers, I always try to ensure that I reach on time.
