There was a walk-in lead and it was my first customer. I explained the basic details of the product and after that, the customer asked me to come home and take the measurements and I thought I got this because before this I was working as a civil engineer with a housing board.
So I did all the calculations, and the area was around 15k and the customer said that “Shubham, you come tomorrow and get the quotations I will keep the cheque ready.” When we met before writing the cheque the customer asked me to take the measurements once again in front of him.
I picked up my LDM and showed him that one wall is 15.8, and other is 12.9 and the parallel wall is will be the same and we just need to multiply it by 2 and we will get the measurements. He asked me “are you from bio or math stream?” I said “I am from math,” customer “ok, so this will be easy for me, you sit. So have you done the entire measurement like this” and I said, “yes sir, this is basic and aise hi karte hain.” Customer “.9 kya hai?” “sir inch hai” customer, “no, you are wrong, you take all the measurements again with inch tape, because I cannot tolerate this mistake.” I told him “sir, its just about 0.5 difference, and I am adjusting that and I have also left 1000 sq ft space.” but he did not budge. He was a little aged man above 55 years old and he made me measure the rooms again.
So in LDM when we measure it is generally like 12 feet 9 inches so when it says 12.19 the numbers after the point are actually not in inches it is not inches it is actually read as twelve point one nine which I did know then.
