Feeling the lack of capability to handle issues

  • I was in the Borivali area and the dealer was a Marwadi. So he was very particular about money. It was my second day after joining.
    • Dealer’s relative wanted to do interior design + wood finish work
    • Dealer told me to go with the contractor – take measurements and give a quotation and come.
    • I didn’t know anything about paints. My previous experience was working at KFC restaurant.
    • The contractor started taking measurements not with LDM and all but with measuring tape. I started asking questions and then the contractor got irritated and said you just observe.
    • Wood Finish measurements are very critical – they were taking every nook and corner and then they handed it over to me saying you make the quotation.
    • I didn’t know how to take quotations. So I made it with the help of my CC (colour consultant)
    • We converted the site and started doing the work. I started monitoring the site and began gaining practical knowledge and physical knowledge also of the wood finish.
    • I made a mistake of 2 lakh rupees on my very first quotation. I missed one room. The quotation was of 8 lakh rupees.
    • Later we figured out when the time came for that bedroom, I found that I had missed it. So then I called the customer and dealer. There was a burst. There was a 4 hours of conversation. They refused to pay 2 lakhs but finally, we arrived at 1.5 lakhs and continued the work.
